As a cautionary note, before you do anything, be sure to wear eye protection, in addition you’ll possibly want some sort of hand protection too.

The first stage when repairing a sizable crack is always to take away the broken concrete utilizing a hammer and cold chisel. Carefully chip off the damaged concrete wherever it is crumbling and disintegrating to the depth of around an inch or so. Afterwards, you will have to “Undercut” the edges of the area that needs repair. It is possible to do this by making the base of the crack wider, but not the top of it, so the inside walls are slanting inward as they go up.

When the steps detailed above have been completed, get rid of all the debris and rubble from the surface which needs repair and keep it damp. Allow water to drip into the gap overnight, or sprinkle some into it by hand every couple of hours for about twenty four hours or so.

A product is needed for the next step. Mix some cement powder with water until it becomes a thick paste or a gel. Generally, it is 3 parts cement to one part water. Place this to the side. Mix a bit extra cement, but make it slightly thinner this time, but still heavy enough to coat the inside edges or the walls of the gap. This part must be performed as quickly as possible while still executing it properly. The cement must be used before it goes off.

The last stage is to fill in the hole. Use the thick cement paste you made earlier and use it for filling the hole. Allow it harden for a couple of hours or so after application. After that, protect it with plastic wrap and wet it a couple of times each day for a week. This is actually known as curing the cement. There you have it, you’ve repaired a crack in your cement.
